About us

Genesis TCC Ltd was formed by Garry Smith as an antidote to the traditional training and consultancy companies – grounded in practice rather than theory.

Garry has over twenty years of practical experience in a variety of roles and organisations. He is a chartered town planner by profession, beginning his career in the public sector. He moved from planning into social housing development in 1994 and gained further knowledge of capital programme management and project management whilst working in this environment. In 1998 he became Chief Executive of a national charitable housing association and led that organisation through a period of great change, including restructuring of the management team, governance changes and moving the head office. In 2002 he was headhunted to become Director of Research & Development for The Salvation Army, one of the world’s largest charities. In 2006 he started his consultancy career sharing his practical knowledge with his clients.

Garry holds an honours degree from the University of Wales, an MA from the University of the West of England and carried out post-graduate studies in negotiation skills at the Harvard Law School. Garry is also a member of the Institute of Fundraising.

Garry is backed up by a network of experienced trainers, coaches and consultants whose CVs make equally impressive reading.
